Lunatics rejoice: the third series from Palus Somni has landed! Recorded under the consecutive full moons of July - December 2013, Maria Lunae delivers twelve long-form improvisations of extreme electronics inspired by the “seas” - or dark spots - of the moon. This series marks a departure from the Earth-bound field recording manipulations of Mappa Sonnitus, and the heavy, meditative drones of Murus Luna Plena, focusing on sound sources of pure electronic input (no microphones were used in this series). The results are explosively dynamic, slipping between harsh cosmic blasts and austere, alien atmospheres, rewarding repeated deep listens. Only available on Bandcamp.
